Services include including technical notes based on its own practical farm-based research and field scale evaluations, surveys and product comparisons, comprehensive dairy herd costings, on-farm consultancy advice and training workshops.

Managing director of the Origin Group, Matt Dobbs, hopes the acquisition will benefit the stock under the Origin Group’s care.

He added: “We will also ensure that Kingshay members have the opportunity to gain from the range of services the group can now offer, such as CHeCS accredited disease testing through our group lab, Biobest”.

Earlier this week Westpoint Vet Group announced it was changing its name to Origin following the divestment of the small animal division.

The acquisition means the Origin group now includes Biobest Laboratories, Garth Pig Vets, Minster Poultry, Westpoint Farm Vets and Poultry Health Services.
