A swift trade for both pedigree and commercial cattle was seen at Uttoxeter at Derby livestock market. The day saw demand exceed numbers resulting in prices topping at £2020 for a Silverpost Sinatra daughter, Cavenworth Sin Wonder consigned by Mr R Lomas, Calow, Chesterfield. Mr Lomas’s second heifer by Shottle sold for £1900.

Commercials peaked at £1700 for a stylish heifer from Mr J Griffin, Omaston, selling to Mr S Fox, Church Broughton, Derby.

An entry of six pedigree heifers from Tom and Sue Flower, Friden, Derbyshire peaked at £1960, with their entire entry averaging £1832.

The entire commercial and pedigree entry combined averaged £1545, with top 14 pedigree heifers averaging £1811 and the entire pedigree entry averaging £1613.
