Having earlier signalled a busy autumn as well as summer, Kivells is launching a number of farms in the south west of England.

Fresh to the market is a trio of north Cornish holdings that join a flurry launched in the past couple of months close to the coast, plus a dairy unit near Holsworthy, Devon.

While the marketing might focus on the Cornish coastal views, the Devon dairy farm is the one that will attract more commercial interest.

It is one of two adjoining farms, Worthen and Pinkworthy, that as a result of the family retiring from farming, offer 250 acres to the market, all carrying sporting potential.

Worthen Farm carries 150 acres with a period farmhouse and annexe, and a range of traditional and modern dairy buildings.

Pinkworthy has 145 acres with a large, modern agriculturally tied farmhouse and small range of modern buildings.

Both were “sensibly guided”, said Kivells, at 720,000 and 620,000, respectively.

An additional bungalow with 15 acres is also available.

These two join Suddon Farm, a 250-cow dairy farm with five dwellings and 160 acres (plus 125 acres of rented land by negotiation) on the River Torridge. It is guided at 1.5m.

“We advertised it in Farmers Weekly recently and were surprised by the interest,” said Mark Bromell of Kivells.

“There is increased demand for good commercial and residential farms.

A lot of people are looking for good, well-equipped dairies.

I think many have sat tight for 18 months and are back in the market.”

There was still a shortage of such farms, said Mr Bromell.

A well-equipped holding with a standard house would attract 4000 to 5000/acre, he added.

Spectacular views over the Atlantic and its surrounding countryside, from an impressive modern five-bedroom house, give Halls Farm at Stibb, three miles north of Bude, its premium 700,000 guide price despite having only 60 acres.

But those acres are productive grass and arable land, with a good range of modern farm buildings.

Having been sold for more than the guide price at auction recently, Park Farm near Widemouth Bay, is back on the market with a smaller acreage and excluding the caravan park. It now consists of 43 acres with a guide of 750,000.

Lastly, Tredorn Farm is a 196-acre arable and grassland farm with an extensive range of farm buildings providing 22,180sq ft of covered space.

The property includes a character four-bedroom farmhouse, in a stunning location on the north Cornish coast. Guide price is 825,000.
