Dingwall bulls sell to 4400gns

Breeding bulls sold to a top call of 4400gns at Dingwall yesterday and averaged a respectable 2052gns for the 37 sold.

Top price went to a James McConachie and Son, Lethendry, Cromdale with a 22 month old Limousin entry which sold to Messrs Alexander Bros, Insch.

Second top was the champion from the pre-sale show, another Limousin, this time forward from Knockie Estate. Whitebridge, which sold for 3500gns to Home Farms, Oldtown of Leys. At 3250gns was another Limousin from Messrs Cruikshank’s Clury herd, while the Simmentals forward hit 3200gns for one from J McIrvine, Huntly, with others from the same home making 3000gns and 2500gns.

Leading Charolais trade was a 2800gns sale for one from J and M McConachie, Grantown on Spey at 2800gns, Aberdeen-Angus reached 2500gns for one from A J Polson, Strathpeffer.
