Prices hit a top of 3200gns at last week’s Simmental sale at Dungannon, with the top call paid for Scribby Famrs Banker from William and Margaret Nelson.

This July 2010 born Dripsey Super King son is out of Cleenagh Naomi and sold with a self replacing index of +25 to I McClintock from Trillick, County Tyrone.

The first bull into the salering, Longbeach Barney, realised 2800gns for Sean Burns who had made the trip from Rathfriland, Co Down. This March 2010 born entry was sired by Kilbride Farm Viduka, and is out of the homebred Brinkton Brilliant daughter Longbeach Fanny 2. He was snapped up by David Johnston from Omagh, County Tyrone.

Sean Burns also realised 2800gns for the July 2010 born Longbeach Brigadierwhich sold to Ian Thompson, Tempo, County Fermanagh. Sired by Kilbride Farm Viduka, his dam is the Kilbride Farm Lennox daughter, Longbeach Princess.

The third and final lot to come under the hammer at 2800gns was Slimero Bonanza consigned by Robert Weatherup, Larne, County Antrim. Born in June 2010 he is by Omorga Volvo, and is bred from Slimero Regina. This bull has an SRI of +28 and sold to B and I Porter, Loughgilly, County Armagh.

Pedigree heifers reached a peak of 2900gns, paid to David Hazelton, Dungannon, County Tyrone, for Ranfurly Kleeb 23. This May 2009 born heifer was sired by Seabank Flint, and is bred from the Milnafua Junior daughter, Sacombe Melody Kleeb. Scanned in-calf to Clonagh Tiger Gallant, she sold to commercial suckler herd owner Duncan McDowell, Newtownards, County Down.

The July 2010 born Derrycallaghan Bandy came under the hammer at 2600gns for Harold Stubbs, Lisnaskea, and grandson Alan Burleigh, Florencecourt. Sired by Dripsey Super King, she is out of the Dyfed Hello 97 daughter, Dema Fuchsia. The successful bidder was Gerard Morris, Omagh, County Tyrone.
