Farmers Weekly award winner to talk at events

Farmers Weekly’s 2011 Beef Farmer of the Year Sam Chesney will be speaking at a number of NBA meetings in Wales next week.

Sam, who runs a suckler herd of 150 Limousin crosses at Kircubbin, Co. Down, Northern Ireland, will be talking about CAP reform and his vision for profitable suckler beef enterprises in the future. The NBA, which has teamed up with Farming Connect for the meetings, will also be giving an update on CAP reform and its potential impact, with Assistant Director Joanne Pugh providing a quick overview of the current situation.

The four events taking place are:

Monday 6 February

• 11am at Hendreseifion, Llanwrin, Machynlleth, Powys, SY20 8QQ.

• 7.30pm at Bishops Meadow, Hay Road, Brecon LD3 9SW.

Tuesday 7 February

• 11am at Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, Glynllifon, Clynnog Road, LL54 5DU.

• 7.30pm at The Oriel Hotel, Upper Denbigh Road, St. Asaph, Denbighshire, LL17 0LW.
