Inkpen Angus dispersal sells to 3,050gns

The dispersal of the Inkpen herd of pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle on behalf of the late M Kary attracted a wealth of buyers and a sale high of 3,050gns.

The herd, established in 2006, included some of the noted cow families from Nightingale.

Sale leader was Inkpen Electra, a fifth calving daughter of Nightingale Davey, in calf to Fordel Parthenon Minotaur, who sold at the day’s highest price to F McDaid, Luton, Beds. Her a February born twin heifer calves sold at 1,950gns to Melview Farming, Dymock, Gloucester and 1,500gns to A Neish, Warminster, Wiltshire.

Another fifth calver Inkpen Miss Brandy also by Nightingale Davey enjoyed a strong following peaking at a combined 5,350gns- with the cow going to A Neish, Wiltshire at 2,350gns and her February born bull calf levelling at 3,000gns to G Morgan, Newcastle Emlyn, Ceredigion.

Inkpen Black Fusia by Idvies Kojack, a second calver topped at a combined total of 4,420gns with Black Fusia making 1,920gns to DS Marrriott, North Moreton, Oxon and her January born heifer calf at 2,500gns again to A Neish.
