Kerry Hill ewes sell to 1,600gns at Ludlow

The 113th annual sale of registered Kerry Hill sheep met solid trade at Ludlow market on the weekend.

 

The champion was awarded by Mr R A Howells of Swansea to a LAX Ewe Lamb out of a Lax ewe sired by a Willowbrook ram which sold for 1,000gns from A John, Lacques Fawr, Carmarthen selling to R G Willaims, Maes y Newydd, Caernarvon.  The reserve champion went to JAD and PM Owens, Woodhouse, Shobdon for a two-year-old ram bred from the Woodhouse flock selling for 1,600gns to HW Venables, Penygelly, Sarn.

 

Ylg rams sold to 1,350gns for a Plaish ram sired by a Bryn Llan ram from FW Jones and Sons, Plaish Park, Church Stretton selling to W Evans, Lowlands Farm, Tenby.

 

Ram lambs sold to 700gns from a Fronarth ram lamb sired by a Plaish Ram and Pentrenant dam bred by SA Jones, Frongoy, Ceredigion selling to P Bond, Drydown Farm, Shere.

 

Ylg ewes sold to 650gns for the reserve female champion being a Prentrenant ewe sired by a Woodhouse ram from R F & D J Price, Pentrenant, Churchstoke purchased by G Pembroke, Belmore Cottage, Upham.
