Trade for Holsteins at Lanacaster this week was solid, despite a larger, lower quality offering, report the auctioneers.

Trade was led at 2400gns by Messrs Basdiley and Son with their Regancrest daughter, Kilton Anagalis 12. This one is giving more than 40kg a day and sold to Messrs Lister, Clitheroe.

A brace then sold at 2200gns, the first being the pre-sale show champion from the Burrow family. This was Stardale Stagnite Duchess. She sold to Ian Wright, Rathmell.

And the second at this money was Dunnersale Igniter Dawn from Wilson Boow and Son. This was bought by A and V Wallbank and Son, Longridge.

Averages; 45 calved heifers £1847.53, five maiden heifers £793.80 (Norton and Brooksbank).
