Limousin females fail to make flight at Perth

Limousin females met a similar trade to the breed’s bulls at Perth, with prices topping at just 2200gns for an in-calf heifer from Stuart Fotheringham.

Ballinloan Aimme is by Anside Struss and out of Ballinloan Stephannie and was sold in calf to Paris show winning bull Sauvignon. She was bought by Northern Ireland-based breeder R Savage for his Aghadolgan herd.

Next top at 2000gns was the pre-sale show champion Castlewigg Farming, Marlepark Begonia. This one was commercial beef champion at Wigtown show this year and is out of Marlepark Thea and by Prestige, she was bought Mr Harley of Netherwood, Bonnybridge.

In at 1850gns were J Orr and Sons, Randerston, St Andrews, buying Mr Fotheringham’s Ballinloan BMW. She is by Penedw Orion and out of Lodge Mercedes.

The final notable bid was 1500gns coming again from Mr Savage. This was for another of Mr Fotheringham’s heifers, this time Ballinloan Abbie, by Goldies Oswald and out of Linross Marion.
