Limousin females met insatiable demand at the Limousin Society’s breeders’ sale at Newark on Saturday (17 May) when a cow and calf outfit sold to a top of 16,800gns.

Leading trade at 13,000gns was the September 2007-born Uruguay daughter Clochette from William Bird’s Birdies herd dispersal.

Clochette was bred by Gaec Robert, La Rebeyrolle, St Yrielx La Perche and is a half-sister to the AI sire Bahut. Clochette.

This one is out of the Mercator daughter Urne and sold Pd’d in-calf again to Brutus. She was the pick of Danny Sawrij for his Swalesmoor herd, Lockerbie. Mr Sawrij also took her heifer calf, the April-2013-born Brutus daughter Birdies Isabeau at 3,800gns.
