Limousin takes Newark show beef title
The Limousin champion, Ironstone Dumandy from Smiths of Bloxham has taken the beef championship here at Newark today, with the Aberdeen Angus leader Chathill Eugo from Brian McClintock in reserve.
Dumandy is a daughter of 42,000gns sire Wilodge Vantastic out of 50,000gns Bailea Umandy which was bought as a heifer from Brian and Matthew Jones’ Bailea herd.
She also took the overall junior championship ahead of the commercial champion from Elfed Williams, Sennybridge.
Chathill Eugo is a Vermillion Payload son out of Cudlobe Eugenie and was bred by Pip Robson in Northnumberland.
The commercial championship was won by Kilkenny Classy Lassy a Rocky daughter from Elfed Williams. This one was bred in Eire and purchased at last year’s Irish Winter Fair for E6000.
Reserve here was another Limousin sired heifer Ruby Red Pants from Paul Barwood and Anita Padfield. This was bred by the Scott family, Thirwell Castle.
