S & S Murray’s cow in milk Trecanda Vindication Lily took the Jersey Breed Championship at today’s Livestock 2012 having been picked out by Clear Brook, Virginia-based judge Mike Stiles for her great udder condition and attachment.

Led by Emma Murray, this Dec ’06-born cow had calved just three weeks earlier. Originally, Lily was purchased by the family as one of ten cows from a herd in Cornwall into which embryos were to be implanted. “She’s just a lovely cow and has the quality of udder I’d like all our cows to have,” she said.

Sired by Vindication CJCC and out of Trcanda December Boys Lily, she put Glanmor Jersey’s cow in milk Glanmor Saber Phlox into Reserve Champion place. BA & JM Daw’s heifer in milk Bluegrass Excitations Prissy Polly was Honourable Mention in the breed titles.
