E T Tomlinson’s senior cow Sandyford Clover 10 took the Ayrshire breed Champion’s title at today’s show, NEC, having praised by breed judge Alan Timbrell for being ‘beautifully balanced’. “This is what the breed is about – longevity, style and strong cows,” he said.

Led by Blaise Tomlinson, the home-bred seventh calver had been retired once from the show circuit having had four Championship titles at previous Dairy Event shows both here at NEC and Stoneleigh. “She calved in April 2012 and is giving 45kg/day,” he explained. “She’s currently kept away from the main herd to allow her to be shown.”

Clover 10 is by KC Roses Chatter T Red and out of Sandyford Clover 7. Breed Reserve Champion went to C & L Window’s cow in milk Hunnington Fragrance 55 with RA Bown’s cow in milk Loukat Lucky taking Honourable Mention.
