Trade at the Lleyn Sheep Society’s annual sale, Ballymena, topped at 880gns for Girgadis Class Act, a Seamus Killen sired ram out of a homebred ewe from Barry Latimer, Trillick. Buyer was J Bradley, Maghera.

Next in the top money was the first prize ram from C and A Kennedy, Ballyclare.  Mileview Carlingford was sired by a Lluest Wen ram out of a homebred ewe.  He sold for 800gns to Thomas Fahy, Corrandulla.

Two rams reached the 750gns mark.  Firstly Barry Latimer sold the first ram into the ring Girgadis Champion another Seamus Killen sired ram to WE Adamson, Carrickergus.  Alex Hegan, Newtownards sold the second, a C and A Kennedy sired ram, to J Green, Athy.

Shearling ewes peaked at £255 a head for the first-prized pen consigned by RJ Johnston, Portrush. The pen sold to pre-sale judge Mary Gordon, County Sligo.

Next at £230 a head was the second placed pen from C and A Kennedy, Ballyclare, which sold to J McGrauanagh, Lurgan.

Following these was the third-prized pen from J Coulter, Millisle, which realised £190 a head to AA Dair, Castle Dawson.

The ewe lamb section was topped by relative new breeder, CB Quigley, Starbane, who sold to Sharon Whitmore, Enniskillen, for £135 a head.

A pen from Barry Latimer, Trillick sold for the next top of £125 ahead to Peter McKeown, Rathdonnell. Aubrey Bothwell, Maguiresbridge sold the third-prized pen for £122 a head to J McKauanagh, Lurgen.

The female section met strong trade with C and A Kennedy selling four year old ewes at £110 a head.  Crosby, Cleland, Saintfield, sold his four year olds for £105 a head and £102 a head.
