A memorial service to celebrate the life of farm campaigner Andrew Hemming will take place on Thursday (3 January).

Mr Hemming, vice-chairman of Farmers For Action, died suddenly on 15 December while attending a function at the Yorkshire Showground with his wife Judith.

A dairy farmer, he played a prominent role in the 2012 SOS Dairy protests that saw thousands of farmers take to the streets to campaign for better milk prices.

A service to celebrate Mr Hemming’s life will be held at 12pm at Tanworth-in-Arden church, Warwickshire, on Thursday, 3 January.

Limited village and school parking mean those wishing to attend are being asked to follow directions to nearby Umberslade Farm Park (postcode B94 5AE).

A coach and other transport will be available to take people from the farm to the church.

Donations are invited to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI) or Farmers For Action via Thomas Bragg & Sons Ltd, 562 Stratford Road, Shirley, Solihull B90 4AY.
