Meon Hill Texels disperse to 700gns top

Leading the trade in the Meon Hill Texel dispersal at Worcester on Saturday was a 700gns bid for the best of the shearling ewes. This one was a Sportsman’s Oswald II daughter out of a dam by Trujim Lion King. She sold with an index of 253 to D Farmer, Petersfield.

Following that at 680gns was another of the shearlings, this time a Lumbylaw Madras daugher out of a dam by Summerwood Grand Union. With an index of 312 she sold to J M and C E Mitchell, Tewkesbury.

The same buyers paid  the next best price too, laying out 650gns for another Madras daughter out of a Winkleigh Falcon sired dam. She has an index of 316.

And at 600gns was the leading older ewe, a 2008-born East Middle Mark of Esteem sired ewe out of a Trujim Lion King sired dam.

In the ewe lambs the best price was a 380gns bid for a Madras daughter with an index of 340. Out of a dam by East Middle Mark of Esteem she sold to S and A Ayres, Ludlow.

A guest consignment of shearlings from the Meon Valley flock of Drayton Farm Partnership sold to a peak of 610gns for a Sportsmans Oswald daughter out of a dam by Summerwood Grand Union. She sold to E I Davies, Llangadog.
