More beef results from East of England Show

Having checked through the results last night I can bring you some more results from the beef classes yesterday.

Winning the Charolais classes which fell under the Charolais Society’s National Show, Kevin Thomas tapped out charlie Mcclean of Mortimers Farms with his February 2007 young cow Mortimers Cameo, who is by Mortimers Upstart out of Mortimers Necessity.

Reserve went to Jimmy Webb and his senior bull Newhouse Demitir, a son of Sackville Adonis out of Newhouse Ogirlie. This was was born August 2008.

In the Beef Simmental section, Brian Allan found his winner in the two year old heifer section in the form of Giles Green’s Greenfields Wonder who is by Curlieu Knight out of Hockenhull Rachel 13th. Reserve went to Mr and Mrs Gunther’s second prize two year old heifer Horsford Manor Wonder, by Balmano Hitman out of Horsford Manor Ruby.

The British White championship was won by Mr A Fisher with his senior bull Fir Tree Barti, by Hevingham Fallstaff out of Fir Tree Hazel, while the reserve championship went to the only entry in the cow and calf class which came from Delamore Farms with Nidderdale Pearl, a February 2007 daughter of Leverington Prospect. 

The Longhorn classes saw Mr and Mrs Stanley do the double taking champion and reserve. Their champion was their two year old heifer Blackbrook Solitaire, a January 2008-born daughter if Blackbrook Maximus out of Blackbrook Nina.Their reserve came in the form of their January 2008 bull Blackbrook Sabrem, again by Maximus.

The Red Poll classes were won by Miss J Broughton, with her cow and calf Nobodys All Spice, by Fedw Tomos, while the reserve went to N P Foster and Partners with Canute Orange Bombadier, by Canute Orange County.

The champion South Devon went to a senior bull in the form of Mr and Mrs Broome’s July 2008-born Welland Valley Crusader, a son of Wellend Valley Crusader. The reserve went to Richard and Judy Fountaine with their two year old heifer Lucombe Carro, by Haddenham Spencer.

The Any Other Breed championship, judged by the British Blue judge Mel Lucas, was a british Blonde cow and calf outfit from Moores Livestock. Doncombe Vienetta is by druk Lance. The reserve went to Paul Barwood and Anita Padfield with their Lincoln Red heifer Brambles Lip Gloss.
