The young heifers are certainly proving popular at the Haresfoot sale today, with a 7300gns bid securing Haresfoot Remington Ella, an ET bred July-born heifer calf. This Mapleburn Remington daughter is out of Haresfoot Ella 47, a Cuthill Towers Autumn Gold daughter and an Ex94 classified dam. She was also All Britain junior cow in 2005 and gave more than 10,000kg in five of her seven lactations, including her seventh at more than 11,000kg. This one went home with Peter Berrysford.
Her 2006-born maternal sister then sold at 5500gns. This was Haresfoot Ranger Ella 2, a Horizon Ranger Red daughter out of Haresfoot Ella 47. She last calved in February 2010 and gave more than 12,000kg in her second lactation, she sold in calf to Mapleburn Remington.
Then making 7200gns was her daughter Haresfoot Brazen Ella, a daughter of homebred sire Haresfoot Brazen. This first calved heifer was born in August 2008 and gave 27.4kg at her first recording after calving in January. This one sold to Philip Read.
