More Royal Welsh cattle results

Here are the remaining breed champions from beef judging at today’s Royal Welsh Show.

Taking the Charolais championship was Gareth Jones with his young bull Esgob Campbell, this one is by Thrunton Virginian, which I believe is a Talisman son, and out of homebred cow Esgob Vanilla. This bull is full of flesh and moves well too and stood in the final short lite of four for the interbreed this afternoon.

In the Aberdeen Angus it was a first Royal Welsh breed title for Keith Evans with his Scots bred bull Wedderlie Kentucky Excel from the Campbell family. Excel is by Wedderlie Exriexad and out of Wedderlie Kensue.

The British White championship went to F W Cook and Son’s with their heifer Albany Pristine, by Dallyashes Heart of Oak and out of Albany Penelope.

Beef Shorthorn leader was E T and J R Gethin’s cow with calf at foot Maxton Cinderella 2. This one is by Chapelton Provost and out of Maxton Barrington Cinderella 7.

Taking the Highland championship were Messrs Russell and Rowlands with their heifer Frangag Millicent 2 of the May.
