More than 170,000 people attended this year’s Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh.
Visitor numbers were up almost 9,500 on 2012, when weather put a damper on the show, with a total of 170,556 attending this year’s show over the four days.

This year’s show attracted a host of politicians including DEFRA ministers Owen Paterson and David Heath, as well as Scots farm minister Richard Lochhead and EU environment commissioner Janez Potocnik.
Allan Murray, Chairman of The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS), organisers of the show said: “It is clear that following two weeks of sunny weather, farmers were in a optimistic frame of mind and ready to do business. All in all, it has been a very successful show.”
