New sheep tracking systems released

A new range of products has been launched in response to the consumer demand for a low cost, simple flock movement recording system.

TMG Software Solutions has launched three new products, including a new version of its Select Sheepware software, priced at £150.

In addition, the company has launched the Agrident APR 350 â€“ a low-cost handheld reader that has a menu of choices to choose from to help specify the sheep you wish to track, and can be set to automatically save specific events, such as purchases.

They have also launched the Royal Reader, priced at £200, which has been designed for smaller flocks.

Explaining the system, George Megarry of TGM, said: “When the data has been entered on to either reader it’s connected to the computer, and the PC software screen displays some appropriate input boxes for additional information for example supplier, haulier and movement document number.

“If it’s a farm to farm movement the user can print off a list of the tag numbers. On clicking save, the software updates the flock register correctly, cutting down administrative time significantly.”
