A special Stirling Bull sales kicked off on Tuesday, marking 150 years of the prestigious event.

Princess Anne, who is the patron of the Beef Shorthorn society, was there to mark the anniversary.

The Princess Royal spent the day with breed Secretary Frank Milnes, meeting breeders and watching the show with the audience.

Over the next two days Farmers Weekly will be bringing latest news from the sales ring as Aberdeen Angus, Limousin and Beef Shorthorn go under the hammer.
