The award winning Ridgefield Holstein herd of John and Valerie Barker is being dispersed today at Ridgefield Farm, Loughborough and so far trade is topping at 26,000gns.
Current sale leader is Ridgefield Fortune Ash Angel, a December 2007 heifer out of the famous EO-Siemers Ashlyns Angel and sired by Comestar Stormatic. She has sold it to David Jones who is buying on behalf of Monmouth-based Sahara Holsteins.
The second highest call of the day so far is 20,000gns given by Cheshire-based Mark Knutsford. He bought the July 2007 heifer Ridgefield Gold Atlee, out of MD-Delight Durham Atlee and sired by Regancrest Elton Durham.
And no strangers to the sale ring, Cornwall-based Wills Brothers have secured a crowd favourite Ridgefield Licorice Dundee for 17,000gns for their Willsbro herd.
