Ruthin Lleyns hit 4000gns

Shearling rams at the Lleyn breed’s annual sale at Ruthin topped at 4000gns for one from Messrs E and D Jones, Machynlleth. This one sold to Trinidad Investments to join their Haywards Heath, Sussex-based flock managed by Peter Sutton.

Next best among the tups was a 3000gns call for D N Bennett and Son’s best while a 2200gns bid secured their second best.

And Trinidad Investments were to the fore in the ewe sales as well, taking a pen of five from Emrys Jones at £250 apiece.

Close behind Mr Jones’ sale was David Alexander, Ayrshire, when he sold his best at 200gns. Mr Alexander dominated the top run of shearling ewes, selling other pens at £185 and £140 too.

In the ewe lamb section Messrs Morris, St Clears took the top bid of £90/head, while Messrs Williams, Pwllheli, took the next best call of £80.
