Today’s sale of Limousin females from the Sarkley sale has certainly seen the sparks fly with a top call of 25,000gns the high spot of what sounds like a resoundingly strong trade throughout.

Hading the sale was Sarkley Dalola, a Fieldson Alfy daughter. And you’d be right for thinking the name is a giveaway to her dam line as she is bred from the same line as Sarkley Bellola, dam of 30,000gns bull Wilodge Dallaglio. She’s out of Sarkley Ola, granddam to Dallaglio. This one was bought by Malcolm Reid, Runninburn, Kelso, as foundation stock for a new herd.

Sarkley Dalola cropped.JPGNext best at 17,000gns was Sarkley Damarriane, a Salomon daughter out of Sarkley Marianne, a Ronick Gains daughter. She is three quarter sister to 17,000gns heifer Sarkley Crystal sold in 2008 and also headed back to Runningburn with Malcolm Reid.

Also going to an undisclosed new home was Sarkley Didi when she sold at 5000gns. This is a Glenrock Ventura daughter out of Sarkley Judy, again a Gains daughter.

Selling for the next best call of 4500gns was Sarkley Dream, a daughter of Saunders Stallone and out of Sarkley Mystic, dam of 17,000gns Sarkley Crystal. This one was bought by D and V Hill, Appleby.

And at 4000gns was Sarkley Dazzle, this is by Objat and out of Sarkley Tinsel, a Heros daughter. She was bought by M J and R H Wallbank, Settle.
