Sauvignon reigns triumphant at Great Yorkshire Show

Despite fears last week that the Great Yorkshire Show would be cancelled, true Yorkshire determination showed that the ‘show would go on’. And on it did, with record livestock entries (there were nearly 3000 sheep on the showground) and by the looks of yesterday, record attendance on the second day of the event.

Soon to be a TV star as well as a regular show stopper, the Crawford Brothers’ Limousin bull, Sauvignon took the coveted Interbreed beef title.

Commenting on the win, Raymond disclosed to Taking Stock that after an appearance at the Royal Welsh in a couple of weeks time, Sauvignon would return to Northern Ireland to feature in a BBC/UTV documentary.

Placed reserve was the outstanding Charolais bull of Dermot Small, shown by David Cormack and heading for the Royal Welsh Show for another head to head with Sauvignon.
