Holsteins sold to a peak of 2700gns at Sedgemoor on Tuesday when David and Valerie Norman’s Ciderhouse herd led the trade on the same day as the centre’s Winter Warmer sale.
The opportunity to purchase one of the famous Fleur family was one too good to be missed and it was Ciderhouse Wildman Fluer a VG88 second calver that topped the day, sharing this top spot with Ciderhouse Shottle Fleur a VG86 second calver sold giving 46.7kgs.
The heifers were close behind selling to 2650gns for Ciderhouse Baxter Karen which had calved in October.
In the day’s Sandleaze dispersal for Nick and Robert Goss the top was a 2300gns sale for Moorshard Shottle Katey 292 who had calved in November and was out of a VG88 dam. Others sold to 2150gns for the January calved Englefield Artic Torch, November calved Poundhill Krielstra Miranda, and October calved Marcroft LPT TIM & ALI Lydia Red.
In the collective section of the sale Ian Dimond’s Dorset herd once again topped the collective section with the January calved heifer Dorset Samuelo Molly 2 sold for 2150gns. The January second calver from D C Dennis and Son Dinnaton Ital Drake Wallen that was giving 47kgs and the November second calver from Rookhaye Estate Rookhaye Roy Gretchin GP83 giving 42.2kgs both sold for 2000gns.
