Shearling ram tops Zwartbles sale at 1,800gns

The Zwartbles Sheep Society sale at Borderway Mart in Carlisle last week (9 and 10 August) saw a top price of 1,800gns achieved for a shearling ram Mr A & Mr T Baillie & Jackson’s Broomfield flock.

This February 2011 born twin – Broomfield Trickster, was reserve overall champion at this year’s Royal Highland Show.  His dam, Mittonvale is out by East Middle and out of Mittonvale.  The buyer was McIntosh and Crum, Bent Farm, Ayrshire.
Meanwhile, the top price paid for a female was 1,200gns for a January 2011 born shearling ewe from Mrs Caroline Anderson’s Wallridge Moor flock.  Wallridge Moor Tameka is by Wallridge Moor Rob and out of Holmlea – she was snapped up by Johnstone & Pirie, Chapelpark, Inverness.
