Sheep dogs top at 2,400gns at Sheep 2012

 

Malvern 4.7.12 a 2,400gns web.jpgA huge crowd gathered for the sale of working dogs at yesterday’s Sheep 2012 event at the Three Counties Showground, Malvern.

 

On what was a mainly dry day, bitches proved to be in more demand with the top price of 2,400gns going to an 18 month old unregistered bitch from Breconshire farmer Trevor Morgans. Sky sold to Lyn Williams, Llandeilo.

 

Five bitches received bids of more than 2,000gns including a registered two and half year old homebred bitch from Huw Watkins, Llanfyllin, selling at 2,250gns to T and L Powell, Abergavenny.

 

Next at 2,100gns was another registered bitch, Derwen Floss from Kevin Evans, Libanus. By his own stud dog Greg and out of Reiver (G Jones) she found a new home with B Pike, East Garston.

 

Another bid of 2,000gns from Mathew Launder of Welshpool secured L’minster Meg a registered 18 month old home bred bitch from D W Lloyd, Kimbolton. And finally Trevor Morgans sold Cammen Lil, a rising two year old registered bitch bred by Huw Watkins, Llanfyllin. Buyer was Gwynfor Richards, Pumpsaint, Llandovery.

 

Averages: Trained dogs, £1,567; untrained and young dogs under 12 months, £470 to a top of 700gns (Clee, Tompkinson & Francis.)
