Sheep trader rounds on activists

A SHEEP trader is threatening legal action against animal welfare activists to enable him to resume export shipments out of Ipswich port.

Shipments to Belgium arranged by Thomas Lomas, who is based in Montpelier, France, were suspended in September after activists mounted demonstrations.

Now he has written to the protest group involved, claiming its approach is unlawful and threatening legal proceedings.

The shipping company involved, Ferryways UK, has expressed willingness to resume the shipments if the threat of disruption at Ipswich Port is removed.
