Shermans Holsteins sell to 2980gns

A top of 2980gns was recorded at the dispersal of the Seward family’s Shermans herd of Holsteins last week.

This was paid for a January calved daughter of Braedale Goldwyn in her third lactation and  her heifer calf by ‘Diamond-Oak Armstead.’

Other cows over 2000gns included Shermans Shottle Whiskey 419 from the founding Whiskey family that had calved to her second in April selling at 2250gns and Shermans Grandprix Whiskey 415, a December second calver that was not served selling at 2000gns.

Calved heifers also broke the 2000gns barrier selling to 2100gns for April calved Shermans Reward Lass 13 by the homebred Shermans Reward sire.

Averages; dairy cows and heifers (inc ‘A’ Lots) ÂŁ1448, calved heifers ÂŁ1748, in-calf heifers ÂŁ1245, maiden heifers ÂŁ726 (Greenslade Taylor Hunt).
