Topping the dispersal of the heifer section of Graham Kerslake’s Shobrooke herd of South Devons at Exeter last week was a two year old bulling heifer Shobrooke Hopeful Jane, a Welland Valley Hero 1 daughter. She sold to B Darke, Bridford, Devon.

Next best at 1720gns was Shobrooke Butterbox Brandy, again by the Welland Valley sire, this one was bought by M Perris, Halse, Northamptonshire. In the yearlings the top bid of 800gns was made twice by the same buyer, Alan Dalton of Howden, Yorkshire. His first purchase at this money was Shobrooke Hopeful Rosemary, a daughter of Welland Valley Hero 1, while his second was Shobrooke Baroness Stepahnie, a Trevassack Duncan 1 daughter.

The breeding portion of the herd will be dispersed on-farm in July.
