A sister double act topped proceedings at last Fridays Skipton working dog sale, which saw prices reach highs of 3900gns for a black and white bitch.

Bred in Powys by Meirion Williams, they are by Pandy Rob and out of Fiz. North Yorkshire and Kettering were the two new destinations with Sally heading home with renown handler John Bell, Howden, Selsby, while Lil joined sheep dog enthusiast Anne Brookes, Kettering.  

 

Next in the money at 3200gns was another black and white bitch the 16 month old Bess from Shaun Richards, Burnley. Bred by Lancashire breeder Tom Lawrenson Bess sold to Trevor and Andrew Procter, Kirkby Stephen.

 

An eye-catching performance from Ian Ibbotson, Oakworth with his dog Style, a 20-month old black and white bitch caught the attention of Beryl Lewis, Llandrindrod Wells who secured her for 2850gns.

 

And a worthwhile trip was had by Northern Ireland breeder John Maginn, who sold his four-year-old homebred black, tan and white dog Moss for 2800gns to Scottish buyer Joe McRobert, Moffatt, Dumfriesshire.

 

Also at the same money was the three-year-old tri-coloured dog Glen, who was snapped up by Northumberland hill farmer Ted Fox. Consigned by James Dewhurst, Lothersdale Glen was bred by leading trialist Johnny Wilson, Berwick Upon Tweed.

 

Next was a bid of 2700gns that secured the tri-coloured bitch Meg, another forward from Mr Richards for Jed Watson, Dartmoor.

 

Mr Watson remained at Skipton until late in the day to make a second acquisition paying 2650gns this time for Ben, a black and white son of Derek Scrimgeour’s Bob, from Ian Hulme, Derbyshire.

 

It was a two year old black and white bitch that commanded the price tag of 2400gns for Beverly Fort, Steeton and selling to Phil Wood, Shrewsbury.
