Good, strong trade was witnessed at the Easter show and sale of prime lambs at Skipton Auction Mart on Monday.

The championship went to Robert Towers, of Camp House Farm, Farleton, Lancaster, with a pair of January-born Beltex x Charollais twin lambs that weighed in at 36kg.

The second prize pen of 41kg Texel x Suffolk x lambs from Mark Evans, Steeton, made £91 apiece when bought by Andrew Atkinson, of Harrogate, who also purchased the third and fourth prize pens from Robert Towers and Martin Preston, Bingley, for £70 and £68 a head respectively.
