Skipton show potential calves to £1200

Second top price in last week’s show and sale of cattle with show potential at Skipton was an £1150 bid for the pre-sale show champion from J C Walker and Son, Clitheroe.

This was a British Blue cross heifer by the herd’s stock bull Brennand Viper, out of a Charolais cross cow. She was snapped up by Steven Swales, Melbourne, York.

The Walkers’ first prize Limousin-sired steer secured top price in show at £1200 when bought by, Michael Priestley, Clayton.

 

Selling at £1020 was the reserve overall, a ten-month-old Limousin-sired heifer, out of a British Blue, from the same home. She was bought by Phillip Summers, Clayton, Bradford,.

 

 David and Lisa Broadbent exhibited the first and second prize youngsters in the halter-led British Blue-sired heifer and steer classes. Stephen Swales bought both class winners – the heifer at £1060 and the bullock at £1000.
