3122011 EESF Sim Champ web.jpgIn the Simmental calf championship, it was Storersmith Brave Heart 10 from Mr and Mrs Smith, Spath farm, Spath, Uttoxeter, that walked away with the top title. This September 2010 born bull calf is by Atlow Seamus and out of Barn Lodge Starburst.

 

In reserve was heifer Beabhill Beauty from R J and B E Kimber. Born in December 2010, she is by Omorga Volvo and out of Deerhurst Melisa. Judge Rob Heaps picked his champion for his power and correctness. “He is a well grown bull and would make a good stock bull for the pedigree man,” he said.

The beef shorthorn championship was won by Aylward Gypsy Rose 5th from David Robert Rutherford, Bullocks Farm, Hillside, Hook.

 

Shown in the ring by Simon Farmer, she cam off her dam, Aylward Gypsy Rose 2nd two weeks ago and is by Tarrant Waverley. Her cousin was champion heifer at the last Royal Welsh Show. Reserve was Podehole Endeavour by Trojan of Craigeassie and out of Podehole Gypsy Zza Zza. He was put forward by Harry Horrell, Pode Hall Farm, Thorney, Peterborough.

 

 

3122011 EESF Angus Champ web.jpg In the Aberdeen Angus championship Rawburn Kinannie L326 from Marsden Farms, Liley Farm, Peniston, took home the silverware. This one is by Rawburn Elmer J921 and out of Rawburn Kinannie J993. In reserve was heifer Linton Gilbertines Tille L529. This May 2011 born animal is by Galawater Bentley and out of Elliot Tilly and was exhibited by Mr G R Brooke,  Linton Wood Farm, Kirby.

 

In the Red Poll calf championships, it was February 2011 born Nobodys Eclipse from Miss J Broughton, 33 Parkfield Farm, Long Buckby, Northants, in the top spot. This one is by Beasthorpe Samson and out of Nobodys Allspice.

 

In reserve was a heifer calf from the same exhibitor, this time Nobodys Ecstacy, a half sister to the champion, also by Beasthorpe Samson, but out of Coddenham Spicegirl.

 

On his champion, judge Richard Smith said:  “The bull is well grown for his age, with good depth of body, width across the loin and exceptional shape over the rear end. I’ve chosen a dual purpose animal, at the beefier end of the scale, but to me he stood out.”
