Bulls sold to a peak of 6200gns at Saturday’s sale of South Devons at Stratford, with the male and overall champion, Lumbylaw Magnus 25 taking the top call. This Enterprise Condor son from Robert Lee is out of Lumbylaw Mermaid 5 and sold to Mark and Maggie Rushbrooke for their Brettles herd, Bewdley, Shropshire.

Lumbylaw Magnus 25.JPGA brace of bulls then traded at 3000gns, the first of which was W J Wright and Son’s Oxney Starbuster 3, which sold to C W Jackson, Ely, Cambrisgeshire, while the second was J White’s Edmeston Zodiac 2 which sold to Robert Lee for the Lumbylaw herd.

Topping the females was bulling heifer Tregada Holly 40 from J R Bastard and Son, Launceston, Cornwall. She is by Godworthy Excalibut 50 and out of Tregada Holly 31 and sold to I Howard, Ashborune, Derbyshire. Second top was bulling heifer Northwick Marigold 6 from Northwick Estate at 2800gns. She went to D Holt, Oxfordshire.
