Still a slow and steady trade at Red Ladies Derby

And still there has been very little excitment in the trade here at Carlisle, with a pensive ringside seemingly unwilling to spend heavily, although in places the quality hasn’t justified much bidding either.

Selling at 2900gns was Melbreak Emerald (lot 84) from James Callion. This is a Saphir daughter out of Ashhollow Sapphire, a Cockleshell Olympus daughter. She sold with a beef value of +26.

Making 2300gns was Goldies Emblem (lot 88) she is by Ampertaine Bravo and out of Goldies Barbara, a Goldies Uppercrust daughter. She went to Messrs Annett with a beef value of +34.

And baffling the ringside was the next lot Glangwden Emma from the Jermans when it went unsold at 7500gns. This is by Ullswater and out of Glangwden Ugina, a Lodge Natterbox daughter. She had been bid to that level by Raymond Savage.

Following that was Melbreak Echo from James Callion. This is by Rossignol, the noted show calf producer, and out of Sarkley Tarriane, a Sarkley Prentice daughter. She went at 4500gns to Messrs Bonsall.

Next came a 3800gns bid for Nebo Emma, a Milbrook Tanko daughter out of Winnington Omiss, a Guards Jackpot daughter, she traded with a beef value of +29 to Messrs Annett.
