Limousin trade may not have hit the same highs seen at Carlisle just two days earlier, but four lots still sold with five figure sums.
Leading trade with a 15,000gns bid was an entry from Harry Emslie, Aberdeenshire with the April 2012 born bull Emslies Hendreron (lot 367). This Emslies Colossus son is out of Emslies Eryl, who was shown at foot when her grand dam Ballymoney Veronica was interbreed winner at the Royal Welsh Show in 2009. He sold with a beef value of +47 to Mr Dandie and Sons, Broxburn, West Lothian.
Next in the money was Mr and Mrs S Irvine, Drummuir, Aberdeenshire with the June-2012 born Anside Hawkeye (lot 404) who was the reserve junior champion. Sired by Derriaghy Enfield, Hawkeye was class winner at the Scottish Grand Prix held earlier this year at the Black Isle Show. His dam, Anside Destiny, was also shown as a maiden heifer at the Royal Highland Show. He sold for 11,000gns to Mr Logan, Kelso, Roxburghshire.
Two lots then commanded the next highest price of 10,500gns. First to sell at this money was an entry from the Allanfauld herd of Mr A MacGregor with Allanfauld Honka the day’s pre-sale champion (lot 323). This January 2012-born Wilodge Tonka son is by the same sire as Vantastic and Cerberus and took first place at Stirling and third place at the Royal Highland Show. Out of Allanfauld Evita he sold with a beef value of +37 to Mr McMillan, Argyll.
At the same money was Mr J Burnett’s Sympa son Spittalton Hawk, by Spittalton Doreen (lot 377). This April 2012 born bull sold with a beef value of +40 to Mr Innes and Sons, Aberdeenshire.
Commanding the next highest price of 8,200gns was Ythanvale Hugo (lot361) from Mr D W Youngson, Aberdeenshire. Sired by Goldies Enzyme and out of Ythanvale Chloe he sold with a beef value of +28 to Mr Innes and Sons, Huntly, Aberdeenshire.
Selling at 7,500gns was Spittalton Holide consigned by local breeder Mr J Burnett, Stirling of the Spittalton herd (lot 381). By Spittalton Denzil and out of Spittalton Connie, he sold with a beef value of +29 to Mr Sharp and Sons.
Two lots then sold at 7,000gns. The first for Garry Patterson’s Aultside Hotshot. This Mas Du Clo grandson by Millington Dominator and out of Shannas Elena went home with Ballintomb Farm, Morayshire.
Next was an entry from J Nimmo, of the Maraiscote herd, Lanarkshire with Maraiscote Hero. This Virginia Andy son sold with a beef value of +23 to Monzie Farms, Crieff.
