Stirling Bull Sales 2012: Charolais showing results

The Charolais classes are underway while the Simmentals go through the sale ring. The Charolais will go under the hammer tomorrow, but the show results so far are:

 

Class 1: Bulls born on or between 11 November and 31 December 2010

 

1st: Mr N R Barclay’s Harestone Farceur (Lot 668)

2nd: Mr N F Massie’s Blelack Formidable (Lot 665)

3rd: Mr N F Massie’s Blelack Frontier (Lot 662)

 

Farceur is a Baladin son out of Australie and Formidable by Swalesmoor Bayonet and has a TSI and SRI off +41.

 

Class 2: Bulls born on or between 1 and 31 January 2011

 

1st: Mrs J Rix’s Wissington Genius (Lot 678)

2nd: Mr K Riddoch’s Maerdy Glade (Lot 682)

3rd: (Lot 671)

 

Wissington Genius is a Gretnahouse Ultimate son out of Wissington Delight. He was male breed and reserve male interbreed champion at the South of England Show this year. Maerdy Glade is a Maerdy Dynamite son.

 

Class 3: Bulls born on or between 1 February and 9 March 2011

 

1st: J H C Campbell and Sons’ Thrunton Galaxy (Lot 688)

2nd: M V and M E Atkinson’s Mowbraypark General (Lot 683)

3rd: Mrs J Rix’s Wissington Grenadier (Lot 687)

 

Thrunton Galaxy is a Balmyle Dickler son with a TSI of +61 and a SRI of +52. General has a TSI of +33 and a SRI of +29 and is a Fairway Bruce son.

Vexour Garth is a Dingle Hofmeister sin, out of Vexour Della and Caithness Guy is a Sportsmans Columbo son.

1st: Mr W Short’s Woodpark Gregg (Lot 709)

2nd: Mr N R Barclay’s Harestone Glenlivet (Lot 715)

3rd: Harestone Gilbert from Mr N R Barclay (Lot 711)

 

Woodpark Gregg is a Doonally New son out of Greyoak Rachel and has a TSI of +39 and a SRI of +28. Harestone Glenlivet is by Goldies Unbeatable.

1st: Mr A Ivory’s Cardean Guardsman (Lot 723)

Cardean Guardsman is an Oldstone Egbert son, out of Cardean Snowdrop and was Charolais champion at Alyth Show. Gabriel is a Balmyle Dickler son with a TSI of +54 and a SRI of +45.

Awarded first prize Thrunton Gallant is sired by Balmyle Dickler and is out of Thrunton Arabella. He has a TSI of +51 and a SRI of +44.

Standing second to Gallant Blackford Gladiator is from Miss A Macpherson. He is sired by Newhouse Bigal and is out of Blackford Celia. He has a TSI of +49 and a SRI of +39.

1st: Lot 793 Falleninch Greatest from Mr A B Hornall

2nd: Lot 792 Marwood Garth from RA and J Blyth

3rd:  Lot 787 Edenhurst Genius from P W Vasey

 

Falleninch Greatest, from A B Hornall is awarded first place in this class. Sired by Prime Colombo, he is out of Falleninch Brilliant and was second at this year’s RHS. He has a TSI of +42 and a SRI of +36.

In second position Marwood Garth is sired by Sportsman Columbo and is out of Marwood Ugene.

In first place is Sandleford Gilberto. Sired by Sportsman Columbo, he was male champion at NI Charolais show 2012.

In second Ashby Gucci, from D Norton is out of Grentnahouse Caresse and is sired by Burradon Talisman. He was junior, male and interbreed champion at Newark and Notts Show. He has a TSI index of +41 and a SRI of +41.

1st: Lot 808 Glencoe Galliant from Mrs V McDonald

2nd: Lot 812 Maerdy Gent from Mrs D E Evans

3rd: Lot 813 Maerdy Grenadier also from Mrs D E Evans

 

Taking top spot was Glencoe Galliant (Lot 808). He is one of the first sons by Plexus, out of Glencoe Dong, and won reserve junior champion at Balmoral recently.

In second place Maerdy Gent is sired by Blelack Digger and is out of Meardy Debutante. He has a TSI of +74 and SRI of +74 also.

 

Class 15 Bulls born on or after 22 June 2011

 

1st: Lot 823 Barnsford Gorse from T and S Gatherer

2nd: Lot 826  Killadeas Garrett from S and D Bothwell

3rd:  Lot 818 Loganbar Global from D M Lyle

Taking top spot is this class is Barnsford Gorse, a full brother to the bull who smashed a world record when he made 70,000gns at Stirling last year. Sired by Balmyle Bollinger he is out of Alwent Broom and is expected to make big money when he goes through the show ring tomorrow.

In second Killadeas Garrett is sired by Blackford Dynamite – the overall champion in Stirling, 2009 – and is out of Killadeas Caramel.

Class16 Heifers born on or after 29 September 2010

 

1st: Lot 827 Vexour Flirt from JBoomaars

2nd: Lot 830 Killadeas Godivafrom S and D Bothwell

 

Vexour Flirt is sired by Blelack Crusaderand is out of Vexour Beth.

 

SENIOR CHAMPION

 

Winning top hours is Wissington Genius, from Mrs J Rix. He is sired by Gretnahouse Ultimate and is out of Wissington Delight. The January 2011-born male was reserve male interbreed at the South of England Show 2012.

In reserve was Harestone Gaffeur, from N R Barclay. Sired by Eldorado he is out of Azalee.

 

JUNIOR CHAMPION

 

Taking home the prize card for Junior Champion is Sandleford Gilberto (Lot 802), from G Henderson. Sired by Sportsman Columbo, he was male champion at NI Charolais show 2012 and is out of Sandelford Tessa.   

In reserve is Glencoe Galliant (Lot 808) from V McDonald. He is one of the first sons by Plexus, out of Glencoe Dong, and won reserve junior champion at Balmoral recently.

 

INTERMEDIATE CHAMPION

 

The judge has placed Cardean Guardsman (Lot723) in champion position. The Oldstone Egbert son, from Mr A Ivory, waschampion at Alyth Show and is out of Cardean Snowdrop.  He has a TSI of +31 and SRI of +42.

 

In reserve position is Thrunton Gabriel fromJ H C Campbell and sons. Sired by Balmyle Dickler, his dam is ThruntonBebopalula. He has a TSI of +54 and SRI of +45.

FEMALE CHAMPION

 

In Champion position is Vexour Flirt, from JBoomars. She is sired by Blelack Crusader and is out of Vexour Beth.  She won first prize at the GreatYorkshire.

In reserve stands Killadeas Godiva, from Sand D Bothwell. She’s sired by Blackford Dynamite and her dam is KilladeasVase.
