Stirling bulls sales 2012: Simmental Show results

The judging of the females has just got underway in the main ring here at Stirling.

 

CLASS 1 Females born on or between 10 March and 31 December 2010

 

1st:  Lot 500. Mr H Macaskill’s Woodhall Bernadette.

2nd:  Lot 497. Mr S B Knox’s Kylesto Bloom.

3rd  Lot 498. Mr B G & L Allan’s Glenturk Bluebell.

 

In first place is August 2010-born Woodhall Bernadette. Sired by Woodhall Volcano she is out of Woodhall Maree and is in calf to Steinadler. She has a TSI of +67 and a SRI of +56.

Then in second place Kyleston Bloom is sired by Kilbride Farm Tully and is out of Kyleston Oprah, born April 2010. She has a TSI of +68 and an SRI of +65.

 

CLASS 2 Heifers born on or after 1 January 2011

 

1st: Lot 511 Mike Frazer’s Edenvale Amanda.

2nd: Lot 504. Mr L D Quarm’s Annick Clem.

3rd: Lot 505. Mrs Hayley Clarke’s Williams Verona’s Cherry

 

In first place Edenvale Amanda is sired Kilbride Farm Newbry and is out of Hockenhull Juliet. She has a TSI of +86 and a SRI of +89.

Standing in second Annick Clem was born in January 2011 and sired by Skerrington Visa and is out of Annick Kittiwa. She has a TSI of +50 and a SRI of +47.

 

Female Champion.

 

In champion position is August 2010-born Woodhall Bernadette (Lot 500). Sired by Woodhall Volcano she is out of Woodhall Maree and is in calf to Steinadler. She has a TSI of +67 and a SRI of +56.

Standing is reserve is Kyleston Bloom (Lot497). She is sired by Kilbride Farm Tully and is out of Kyleston Oprah, born April 2010. She has a TSI of +68 and an SRI of +65.

 

CLASS 3 Bulls born on or between 26 October 2010 and 31 January 2011

 

1st: Lot 519. Jim and Patricia Goldie’s Newbiemains Boston 10.

2nd:  Lot 527. Mr J Green’s Corskie Connan 11.

3rd:  Lot 524. Mr G W Smith’s Drumsleed Cougar 11.

 

In first position Newbiemains Boston 10 is a December 2010-born bull, sired by Kilbride Farm Rainman and out of Dirnanean Virginia V16. He has a TSI of +67 and a SRI of +70.

In second is the January 2011-born bull Corskie Connan 11. Sired by Ballinalare Farm Nightrider, he is out of Corskie Tori and has a TSI of +67 and a SRI of +70.

 

 

CLASS 4 Bulls born on or between 1 and 28 February 2011

 

1st: Lot 536. R H Widdicombe’s Starline Countryman 11.

2nd: Lot 538. M/S A and P A Hurn’s Twyford Cassius 11.

3rd:  Lot 535. Mr J Green’s Corskie Chipper 11.

 

Taking top spot in the class is Starline Countryman 11. Sired by Slievenagh Talisman, he is out of Starline Lorette and has a TSI of +91 and a SRI of +83.

Second in the line is Twyford Cassius 11, a son of Kilbride Farm Valour, his dam is Twyford Wild Flower. He has a TSI of +77 and a SRI of +67.

 

CLASS 5 Bulls born on or between 1 and 12 March 2011

 

1st: Lot 553. Mr H Macaskill’s Woodhall Campbell 11.

2nd: Lot 554. C H Evans and son’s Wroxall Clifford 11.

3rd: Lot 552. S D Abram Farm’s Beetley Cooperman 11.

 

In first place in this class is Woodhall Campbell 11, sired by Annick Talisker and out of Woohall Vettienne, with a TSI of +70 and a SRI of +80.

Standing second to him is Wroxall Clifford 11, sired by Lamhoj Supery and out of Wroxall Sanctuary-Patience. He has a TSI of +71 and a SRI of +68.  

 

CLASS 6 Bulls born on or between 13 March 2011 and 25 March 2011

 

1st: Lot 571. Mr and Mrs L Moffat’s Innerwick Callum 11.

2nd:  Lot 566. Mr H Macaskill’s Woodhall Cyclone 11.

3rd: Lot 563. Mr H Macaskill’s Woodhall Canada 11.

 

Taking the red rosette is Innerwick Callum 11, sired by Strathisla Kaiser and out of Innerwick Elizabeth. He has a TSI of +45 and a SRI of +40.

With the blue rosette, in second place, is Woodhall Cyclone 11. He is sired by Omorga Volva and is out ofWoodhall Prada. He has a TSI score of +69 and a SRI of +73.

Kilbride Farm Comber 11 is a CairnviewSnazzy son. Snazzy was purchased for 15,000gns and has had almost 30 sonsaveraging more than 6,000gns at Stirling.

Delfur Chas 11 is a Delfur Willie Wonkason out of Delfur Daisy.

2nd: Lot 601. Mr J Green’s CorskieCallum 11.

In first place in this class DrumloneConvoy 11 is a Omorga Volvo son out of Celtic Nightingale.

Corskie Callum is the third bull fromMr J Green to have won a prize today. Standing in second place the 18-month-old- like the last two prize winners from the Corskie herd – is sired byBallinalare Farm Nightrider and is out of Corskie Furst 754.

Auchorachan Captain 11 is a SaltireTalent son. Talent also sired Auchorachan Wizard, which made overall champion atStirling in February 2010 and sold for 20,000gns.

Drumsleed Calgary 11 is sired by AurochAce and is out of Drumsleed Misty.

Mr W S Stronach, from Berryleys Farm,Grange, Keith, took first and second prizes in this class.

Annick Capercaillie 11 is a CairnviewSnazzy son. Snazzy was purchased for 15,000gns and has averaged nearly 6,000gnsfrom 27 bulls sold.

The 16-month-old was out of AnnickDuchess.

Auchorachan Cyclone 11 is sired byClonagh Tiger Gallant and is out of Ravenswoth Madie.

Gallant has sired sons which havetopped 10,000gns.

CHAMPIONSHIPS:

Senior champion.

Taking top title in thesenior championship Taking is Starline Countryman 11 (Lot 536), from R H Widdicombe ofAshprington Court, Ashprington, Totnes. Sired by Slievenagh Talisman, he is outof Starline Lorette and has a TSI of +91 and a SRI of +83.

Intermediate champion

 

The judge has selectedKilbride Farm Comber 11 (Lot 585) as his intermediate champion. The19-month-old is a Cairnview Snazzy son from W H Robson and sons, Kilbride Farm,Doagh, Ballyclare. Snazzy was purchased for 15,000 gns and has had almost 30sons averaging more than 6,000gns at Stirling.

 

In reserve is K C Veitch’sDrumlone Convoy 11 (Lot 604), from Drumlone, Lisbellaw. He is sired by Omorga Volvo andis out of Cletic Nightingale, with a TSI of +75 and a SRI of +90.

Junior champion

 

The junior champion hasbeen awarded to Auchorachan Captain 11 (Lot 613), from D and R Durno, from Auchorachan Glenlivet,Ballindalloch.

Auchorachan Captain 11 is aSaltire Talent son. Talent also sired Auchorachan Wizard, which made overall championat Stirling in February 2010 and sold for 20,000gns.

In reserve was Drumsleed Calgary 11 (Lot 615), from Mr G W Smith, of Fordoun, Laurencekirk.He is sired by Auroch Ace and is out of Drumsleed Misty.

Overall champion

The judge has awarded overall champion and reserve to Intermediate prize winners. Standing in champion position isKilbride Farm Comber 11 (Lot 585). The19-month-old is a Cairnview Snazzy son from W H Robson and sons, Kilbride Farm,Doagh, Ballyclare and is out of Kilbride Farm Eunice.

Snazzy was purchased for 15,000 gns and has had almost 30sons averaging more than 6,000gns at Stirling.

Speaking of his selection after the show Judge Mr Harold Stubbs, from Co Fermangh, in Northern Ireland said he had chosen the champion because it had more muscle and “wasn’t as fleshy” as the reserve.

Mr Stubbs, who is a keen Simmental breeder, said the turnout had been strong and commended the exhibitors for the turnout.
