As promised yesterday here is a preview for the Aberdeen-Angus bulls on offer next week at Stirling. From what’s entered it look’s a fair selection, seeing them in the flesh could of course like every other sale reveal something different.

Anyway, first to have a mark beside it in my catalogue is Blelack Erudite (lot 4) from Neil and Graeme Massie. This is a Nightingale Defiance son out Blelack Erolline, a Blelack Blackstock daughter. He has a TSI of +26 and an SRI of +33, with great figures for growth and milk.

Next up is the very next lot, Galawater Excalibur (lot 5) from Jim Logan. He’s a son of Rawburn Elypsium and out of Galawater Ermine, a Wedderlie Ebony daughter. He has a TSI of +38 and a massive SRI of +48.

After that is the next lot again, Newton-Struthers Juneric (lot 6). This one is by Retanach Pirate and out of Newton-Struthers Junerica, a Cairnton Everman daughter. He has an impressive show record having been breed champion at Nairn and Keith and male champion at Grantown, as well as winning the two year old bull class at Turriff. TSI 26, SRI 37.

Andrew Elliot’s Blackhaugh herd has a good looking bull in the form Blackhaugh Right Time. He’s by Blackhaugh Time, a Leachman Right Time son and out of Blackhaugh Rosebud, a daughter of leading cow Prairielane Rosebud. He has a TSI of +42 and an SRI of +50, as well as great growth and milk figures.

Then comes Netherton Focus (lot 12), this is a The Moss Mr Eshton son out of Netherton Fleur, a Darlene Cruz daughter. With a TSI of +32 and an SRI of +36 he was first senior yearling at the Royal Highland and breed champion at the Angus National Show at Kelso.

From the Belhaven herd of the Gilmour family comes Belhaven Destiny (lot 23), a TC Freedom son out of Southland Duchess, making him full brother to leading Canadian show bull Southland Full Throttle. ET bred he has a TSI of +27 and an SRI of +42 with a milk figure of +17, he could be an interesting prospect.

I also like the look of the next bull Auldhouseburn Euro (lot 24) from Hugh Blackwood. This Duncanziemere Judge son is out of Dacre Eulovable, a Haymount Gistrono daughter. He has a TSI of +39 and an SRI of +49.

One I like the look of in the catalogue and in the flesh from the photo I’ve seen is Moncur Jubilant Eric (lot 34) from the Taylors. This The Moss Florian son is out of Moncur Jill Erica, a Curzon Entertainer daughter. He has a TSI of +30, an SRI of +39 and a calving ease figure of +3.9.

Another to catch the eye is Netherton Kiwi (lot 50) from the McLarens. He has a stack of breeding behind hime, being a The Moss Mr Eshton son out of Netherton Kim, a TLA Northern Samurai daughter out of Kim of Fourdafourie. His TSI is +32 and his SRI is +35.

The Massies have another of interest in Blelack Jubilee Eric (lot 51). This one is by Netheralan Peter Pershore, sire of Blelack’s good string in February, and is out of Blelack Jubilee Erica, an HF Ricochet daughter. He comes with a TSI of +34 and an SRI of +48.

Then it is on to Deveron Jupiter (lot  61) from Hamish Sclater. This is by Young Dale Dudley and out of Newcairnie Jaqueline Erica, dam of £20,000 bull Deveron Jasper Eric. He has a TSI of +30 and an SRI of +42.

And my final pick is one for anyone looking for shape. They may want to take a glance at Tonley Pizarro (lot 65) from Neil Wattie. He is a son of Ankonian Elixir 100 and out of Tonley Princess, a daughter of the great muscling imported sire Royal Added Value. He comes with a TSI of +36 and an SRI of +46, as well as a milk figure of +18.
