Kivells report a strong trade at their first sale of TB restricted store and dairy cattle at Holsworthy market.
A total of 308 cattle sold to a 100% clearance with a top call of £845/head given for a trio of Aberdeen- Angus steers, from Messrs J D Phillips and Son, St Burian, Penzance. Auctioneer David Kivell said there with plenty of strong cattle between £700 and £740, with the top heifers consigned by A R Mitchell, St Kew, Bodmin, who’s British Blue crosses sold at £825.
Meanwhile, in the dairy auction auctioneer Mark David was delighted with the trade. “There was no real difference at all on the trade with plenty of buyers ready to purchasers driving the best to £1500 for David Hopper, Virginstow, Beaworthy.” Kivells next sale of TB restricted cattle at Holsworthy will be on 20 December.
