Suffolk ewes hit 1700gns at Stirling

Prices reached 1700gns at Stirling on Saturday at United Auctions’ annual collective sale of in-lamb ewes.

Top price was paid for a Suffolk ewe from David Walker, Galcantray. She was by Templand Cracker and in-lamb to Collessie Dead Lucky and sold to H Annett and Son, Widdrington.

Next top was 1100gns from the Strathmor dispersal from Gordon Taylor for a gimmer by Glenho Gurkha out of a Castlewellan North Star Dam in-lamb to Glenhead Golden Phoenix.

John Christie, West Carse, sold to 1000gns for a gimmer by Cairness Almighty The Second. She was in-lamb to Bankend Bills E7E and sold to H Annett and son, Widdrington.

Also a major reduction from the Late John B Croal, Hollycroft reached 450gns for a two crop ewe by Orcades Highline in-lamb to Well Knight. She sold to Scott Enginering, Forfar.

Charolais females from Wendy Willox, Starthinver, sold to 350gns twice, averaging 350gns for six gimmers. Zwartbles females topped at 400gns for a gimmer from M A Simpson, Tardoes.
