Superstition daughter leads Northern Stars sale

A Charliesdale Superstition daughter, Lillyhall Superstition Bria from Messrs Watson has taken the top call of 10,500gns at today’s Northern Stars sale at Beeston Castle.

This one is an ET bre daughter of MS Goldwyn Bria, a Braedale Goldwyn daughter classified VG86 as a two year old which gave 15,712 in her first lactation.

Next best at 7000gns was given for a first choice from seven pregnancies, with these being by MSAtlees Sht Aftershock and out of Lewisdale Eastside Gold Amaze, a Goldwyn daughter. The dam gave 9478 in her first lactation and is full sister to Eastside Lewisdale Gold Missy, the All Canadian junior two year old winner in 2008 and the All American junior two and three year old winner.

Selling just short of that at 6900gns was Willsbro Lila Z Altaross from Wills Brothers. Sired by Bosside Altaross, this December born heifer is ET bred out of Acecroft Goldwyn Lila Z, another by Goldwyn. She is from five generations of VG or Excellent dams.

Then making 6600gns was another from the Wills family, Willsbro Aftershock Sharon. By MS Atlees Sht Aftershock she is ET bred out of 14,000gns dam Smiddiehill Goldwyn Sharon and is from 10 generations of VG or Excellents and is a March-born heifer.

A 5800gns bid was the next best after that, with this price paid for Lillyhall Golden Elegant from the Watsons. This is by Braedale Goldwyn and out of GBM Best Elegant, a Hidden-View Best daughter classified as Ex92. This is a December born heifer and is entered for the National Calf Show next month and is from seven generations of VG or Excellent dams.

At 5400gns was Woodmarsh Gerard Zandra 2 from the Gould family. This is a Shcillview Oman daughter ET bred out of Woodmarsh Goldwyn Zandra and is from seven generations of VG and Excellent dams.

And making 5000gns was Riverdane Golden Ashlyn from Riverdane Holsteins and Bill Nadin. This Golden-Oaks St Alexander daughter is out of Sterndale Ashlyns Valentine.
