The annual production sale from James and Thomas Whiteford’s Tercrosset Beltex and Texel flock once again saw a strong demand, with the 105 shearling rams averaging £708.51, which saw a rise of nearly £100 on last year’s trade and 13 selling for more than 1000gns.

The shearling gimmers leveling at £243.97, while the ewe lambs averaged £111.60.

Sale leader was a Texel shearling ram which sold for 2000gns to Messrs Roots of Kilnford Croft, Dumfries.

In the female section a pen of four Texel gimmers secured the top price of 510gns which were knocked down to Messrs T Dick of Hamildean, Peebles. Messrs Dick also took home the top priced pen of ewe lambs which realised 180gns eac
