A £1 entry fee for Young Farmers and open stock judging competition could pay dividends, with a total cash prize of £2500 on offer at Beef Expo this year.
The winner of Young farmers’ stock judging will receive the Duke of Northumberland Perpetual Trophy and £500, while the winner of the open competition will receive the Yara Perpetual trophy and £400.
Winner of the Young Farmer junior competition will receive the Beef Expo 2008 Rose Bowl and cash prize of £200.
In addition to top awards, prize money will also be awarded for second place at £150 to sixth place at £25. Prize money in open competition will include £300 for the runner up down to £100 for forth place. Yara promotional merchandise will be available for runners up.
Competitors will have between 9am-12:30pm to complete judging of five classes of Aberdeen Angus steers, Charolais bulls and heifers, Luing heifers and Simmental heifers.
