Proposals for an 8000-cow dairy in Lincolnshire have caused controversy in the UK with fears over the animal’s welfare.


As part of her Nuffield Scholarship, FWi deputy news editor, Caroline Stocks, visited a 4,000 head “super dairy” in Pennsylvania to see how similar businesses worked in America.

She filmed the following report from a seventh generation dairy farm, which has grown from a 12 cow enterprise to a 4,000 cow affair.
