DEFRA announced its new strategy today (4 July) to reduce bovine TB in England.
The strategy targets three distinct risk areas across England with tailored measures and aims to make England disease-free within 25 years.
Badger culling will be rolled out to more areas if pilot culls are deemed successful this summer.
Other measures include: cattle vaccine trials; ongoing research and development and a plan to deploy oral badger vaccinations.
In this video, DEFRA secretary Owen Paterson outlines why the department has introduced the new plans.
